Waste incineration capacity of 3,000 tons/day
Carbondioxide emission will be reduced by 1 million tons per year
The project is a domestic waste incineration facility for Istanbul, planned in the Kemerburgaz area on a site allocated by the Ministry of Environment and Forests to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
The project scope for the solid waste incineration facility with a 3000 ton/day capacity involved the design of waste reception, waste supply, waste incineration, recycling of energy released during incineration, transformation of this energy into electrical power, cleaning of the gas released through the chimneys, collection and removal of ash and cinder.
Steam obtained from the waste incinerated at the facility will be transmitted to a steam turbine which will produce approximately 78 MWh electrical power. This power will meet the entire internal demand of the facility. Surplus electrical energy will be transferred onto the general power network.
