After the Ordu Giresun Airport it is the second airport in Turkiye and Europe constructed on a ground reclaimed from the sea. When commissioned the airport will have a yearly passenger capacity of 3 million.
The project scope involves a 6.5 km long breakwater, 56.250.000 m3 sea fill, 3.000 m x 45 m runway, apron and taxiway.
