Cemal Kamaci Sports Complex was designed in accordance with the principles of Leed Gold. Recyclable and environmentally friendly materials were used in its construction, with the main criteria being an ecological development approach involving a site design with reduced heat island impact, green roof system, and more open-air spaces.
The illumination design of the facade and the site aimed at reduced light pollution. The vegetation chosen for the landscaping design consisted of local plants that require less water, and a system to collect and recycle rainwater. Photovoltaic panels were used which meet 10% of the energy requirement, and all engineering designs were arranged to achieve 35% energy saving in the building.
Cemal Kamaci Sports Complex contains an olympic swimming pool with a tribune that holds 426 people, a semi-olympic swimming pool with a tribune for 142 people, outdoor football pitch and tennis courts with open-air tribune for 239 people, changing rooms, aerobics saloon, studios (suitable for far-eastern sports activities), indoor cafeterias, outdoor terrace area, and a car park with the capacity to hold 536 cars.
