The Batman Tramway Line is the first urban rail transit system planned for the city of Batman. The project has been designed with two route components: the Main Line and the Bus Terminal Connection Line. The system has a total length of approximately 9.9 km, consisting of a 7.2 km Main Line and a 2.7 km Bus Terminal Connection Line. A total of 15 stations are planned along the alignment, including 11 stations on the Main Line and 4 stations on the Connection Line.
The Main Line starts in the vicinity of Batman City Stadium and extends via Bostan Avenue and İstasyon Avenue to Atatürk Boulevard. It then continues along Turgut Özal Boulevard and terminates near the Batman Courthouse. The alignment serves key urban destinations and activity centers, including TPAO, Batman Railway Station, Batman Municipality, the city center, the Governor’s Office, Batman Park Shopping Mall, and the Central Campus of Batman University.
The Bus Terminal Connection Line branches off at the Worldmar Shopping Mall junction and follows Mahatma Gandhi Boulevard, Kıbrıs Şehitleri Boulevard, and Ahmet Necdet Sezer Boulevard before terminating at the Batman Intercity Bus Terminal. In addition to residential areas, the route provides access to various commercial and public-use facilities.
The system has been planned with a combination of segregated and mixed-traffic operating sections, offering an integrated transportation solution that enhances urban accessibility and supports sustainable mobility throughout the city.
