73 km long double track, standard gauge railway project. Design speed is 120 km/h. There are 2 tunnels, 1 cut&cover and 1 viaduct within the scope of the project.
Signalization and telecommunications works are also within the scope in Georgia section.
This project focuses on the aim of combining the economic interests between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkiye. After the completion of Baku-Tibilisi-Kars Railway Project, uninterrupted freight transport from Europe to China will be possible.
