5 sewage pumping stations
4 rainwater pumping stations
3 combined lifting stations
Pipeline networks
The Al-Hilla Wastewater and Rainwater Lifting Stations Project is part of Iraq’s national infrastructure rehabilitation plan and stands as one of the largest modern sewage and stormwater initiatives in the Babel region.
Financed by the UK Export Finance (UKEF) and implemented by GCITJ Babel Ltd. in cooperation with the Babel Sewage Directorate, the project aims to enhance sanitation services, strengthen flood resilience, and support environmental protection of the Shatt Al-Hilla waterway.
The scope includes the construction of five sewage pumping stations, four rainwater pumping stations, and three combined lifting stations, along with extensive gravity and pressure pipeline networks. Once completed, the system will provide sanitation services to more than 25,000 households and significantly improve the wastewater management capacity of Al-Hilla and its surrounding districts.
Under contract with GCITJ Babel Ltd., Yüksel Proje serves as the main design consultant, responsible for the complete engineering design and documentation of all pumping stations.
Our services include:
• Multidisciplinary concept and detailed design for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C systems;
• Preparation of construction drawings, design reports, and technical documentation in line with international and Iraqi standards;
• Coordination with GCITJ, local authorities, and equipment vendors to ensure system integration and constructability;
• Design supervision support during construction to maintain design integrity and quality control.
