285 km long double track, standard gauge railway project from Kirikkale to Samsun. Together with the connection lines the total length increases to 418 km. Design speed is 250 km/h.
There are 80 tunnels (83 km), 58 viaducts (26 km), 25 cut-cover tunnel (4.3 km), 35 overpass, 129 underpass, 5 stations, 174 highway crossing, 22 bridges and electromechanical structures within the scope of the project.
This project is important in terms of connecting the central and southern regions of Turkey to Samsun Port on the Black Sea coast. The railway corridor is challenging in means of very tough topographical and geological site conditions.
