Selimpasa Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant serves to treat the wastewater from the settlements of Selimpasa, Celaliye, Kumburgaz, Kavakli and Ortakoy.
With the help of the collectors of the Celaliye-Kumburgaz Tunnel, Selimpasa Tunnel, Selimpasa West Tunnel and Kocadere (22 km in total) the wastewater is transfered to the Selimpasa Advanced Biological Treatment Plant.
Using advanced treatment methods the treatment plant with it’s 400,000 m³ treatment capacity/day removes carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus from the wastewater and discharges the remaining water into the sea as deep sea discharge at 1,690 m distance from the shore and at a depth of 35 m.
