The 2x2 lane motorway project, with a total length of 31.33 kilometers, includes 48 viaducts, 7 tunnels, 1 ecological viaduct, and 4 service buildings.
The route passing through the Carpathian Mountains features numerous landslide prevention measures as well as excavation and embankment retaining structures.
This project holds great importance for Romania’s national transportation network. It plays a strategic role by providing a connection from the Black Sea coast through Bucharest to the European Union motorway standards, reducing travel time, enhancing safety, and increasing comfort.
Supported by European Union funds, the project places strong emphasis on environmental impact assessments. Environmentally friendly solutions such as wastewater management, noise barriers, and an ecological overpass (ecoduct) are integrated into the project.
