The Izmir Bay Crossing is a complex project that aims to provide transport integrity between the two sides of Izmir Bay and connect Cigli and Balcova.
The project that connects the North of Izmir Bay to the South of the Bay involves the following:
13 km long motorway
16 km long rail system, 15 stations
3.585 m long sea bridge
590 m long cable-stayed suspension sea bridge
0.8 km long artificial island
2 km long immersed tube tunnel
2,007 m of drilling work in the open sea and 1,021 m of drilling work on land with in-situ tests were carried out under the scope of the investigations.
