Petkim Petrokimya Holding has planned a container terminal in the currently active port area which at present is operating inside the Petrochemical complex in Izmir-Aliaga. Planned within the framework of the master plan prepared by Petkim, it is the largest port in the Aegean Region with a container handling capacity of 1.5 million TEU.
The scope of the project includes a 700 m long berthing and loading-unloading dock, the construction of a container stockpile, dismantling of a part of the existing breakwater and extending it to the west, operation and maintenance buildings, infrastructure and landscaping works, and railway connection works.
